Arctop, founded in California in 2016 by neuroscientist Dan Furman, Ph.D., and software engineer Eitan Kay, is a pioneering venture in the field of brain-computer interface (BCI) technology. Arctop is driven by a desire to build technology that enhances human life for all.
Dan Furman's journey in neuroscience began in high school, when he co-developed a method with neurosurgeon Christopher Duma to halt malignant brain tumor growth using brain imaging and gamma radiation. Dan deepened his understanding of neurobiology at Harvard, and after graduating, contributed to a project aimed at helping physicist Stephen Hawking communicate through thought. Dan went on to do a PhD at Technion's Evoked Potentials Laboratory under Professor Hillel Pratt.
Meanwhile, Eitan Kay, a self-taught full-stack software engineer and cybersecurity specialist, nurtured his own growing interest in brain technology. He began collaborating with Tel Aviv’s premier neurology department at Ichilov Hospital on specialized IT infrastructure to support cognitive research, and advancing a new virtual reality technology to enhance stroke rehabilitation. Dan and Eitan met at a startup accelerator hosted by Google, where they decided to join forces to found Arctop.
The company's platform represents the fusion of neuroscience and cutting-edge software engineering, striving to make technology more intuitive and responsive to human thought. At its core, Arctop is about ensuring that technological advancements improve the human experience and benefit everyone.
